How can I be braver so I can tell more people about Jesus?

I love this question!  I love it because there's a clear desire from the person to tell more people about Jesus so they can know his forgiveness and love in their lives too.  But they're nervous about it.  Maybe even scared.

Ever felt that way?

If you're not a follower of Jesus then maybe not but if you are, you'll maybe have had one of the following worrying thoughts about having conversations about Jesus with others who don't share your beliefs about him...

- "They'll think I'm stupid."

- "They'll not want to be my friends any more."

- "They'll ask me something I can't answer."

- "I'll say the wrong thing and upset them."

- "They're not interested and it would be a waste of time."

LOTS of Christians feel this way.  If you're NOT a Christian, I wonder what you would like to say to your Christian friends who maybe have these worries.  Hopefully you can encourage them if they're feeling nervous about having chats with you about their life with God!

And if you ARE a Christian, I've got some good news for you!  There's a brilliant (and totally FREE) video course designed to you get better at sharing your faith in normal, natural ways so that it becomes a way of life for you...

It's called LIVING AND TELLING

I helped to write and produce it, but don't let that put you off!  Just click on the link above and you can find out all about it, download and watch the videos, or even better - have a go at the course with others so you can encourage one another!

If you're not a Christian yet, feel free to have a look at it too.  It might be interesting to find out why Christians want to get better at sharing their faith with you!  And you can help them do it well by telling them what you think and asking them your questions!

To encourage you about this one, here's some of God's words to us in the Bible about HOW to go about sharing our faith in Jesus.

1 Peter 3:15

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect...

Matthew 28:16-20

Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

1 Corinthians 9:18, 22-23

What then is my reward? Just this: that in preaching the gospel I may offer it free of charge...

To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. 23 I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

2 Corinthians 5:16-21

So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Whether we're curious about Jesus, or following him already, let's pray for God to make us brave enough to have more brilliant conversations about him so that we can know him and help others know him too!  Let's do all the bright ideas God gives us! :)
